This reinterpretation of the Taj Mahal draws on Vincent van Gogh, one of the masters of Post-Impressionism, whose painting is characterised by expressive brushwork and intense colours. Beneath a sky of swirling movement, the monument appears in a harmony of luminous yellows, blues and greens. The short, rhythmic brushstrokes, chromatic contrasts and dazzling light recall the Provençal landscapes Van Gogh painted during his time in Arles and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The Taj Mahal thus takes on an expressive dimension, in which colour and movement transform the peaceful atmosphere of the monument.
