L'œuvre en bref
This work revisits the Taj Mahal in the spirit of Claude Monet, a major figure of Impressionism, whose painting explores variations of light and colour harmonies. Bathed in a pink and lavender atmosphere, the monument appears at the end of the long pool, framed by cypresses. Broken brushstrokes soften the outlines of the white marble, while golden, blue and pink reflections mingle on the surface of the water. This play of light and colour recalls Monet’s explorations of landscapes and how they change over the course of the day.
