L'œuvre en bref
This reinterpretation of the Jet d’Eau in Geneva draws on the pictorial world of Claude Monet and his explorations of light and its reflections. Beneath a sky in shades of blue, pink and violet, the jet of water soars above Lake Geneva, whose surface shimmers with turquoise, emerald and silver reflections. The broken brushstrokes, juxtaposed colours and subtle variations of light that define the Impressionist technique evoke the way Monet sought to capture the changing effects of water and atmosphere. A luminous, airy work in which the jet of water seems to melt into the shades of the sky.
