This work revisits the Sagrada Família through the exotic, colourful world of Paul Gauguin. Beneath a sky in shades of pink, yellow and orange, Gaudí’s towers rise amid lush vegetation, while two female figures in the foreground evoke the artist’s Polynesian scenes. The intense colours, large flat areas and simplified forms that define the Synthetism developed by Gauguin give the monument a warm, transporting quality. An unexpected encounter between Catalan architecture and the tropical atmosphere of the Tahiti paintings.
