L'œuvre en bref
This reinterpretation of the Pyramids of Giza draws on Paul Klee, a major figure of modern art and a teacher at the Bauhaus. The pyramids emerge from a mosaic of geometric shapes in shades of ochre, pink and blue, punctuated by celestial symbols and a camel caravan. Through his explorations of colour, rhythm and the simplification of forms, Klee developed a singular pictorial language on the border between figuration and poetic abstraction. A work in which the landscapes of ancient Egypt become a subtle play of lines, colours and signs, between geometry and imagination.
