L'œuvre en bref
This transposition of the Great Wall of China draws on Piet Mondrian, a great name of Neoplasticism. The wall crosses a geometric composition structured by black lines and flat areas of red, yellow and blue, the hallmarks of the artist’s world. Its crenellated towers and ramparts blend with the coloured rectangles, creating a dialogue between figurative architecture and abstraction. This encounter between the monumentality of the Great Wall and Mondrian’s geometric rigour gives rise to a graphic, balanced composition.
