This new take on the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge draws on the poetic, dreamlike world of Marc Chagall. At the heart of the composition, the Venetian bridge appears in a landscape with reinvented perspectives, dominated by intense blues, luminous yellows and touches of red and orange. The façades seem to break away from their surroundings, while the reflections in the canal mingle with the colours of the sky. The chromatic contrasts, freedom of form and perspectives liberated from traditional rules recall Chagall’s singular pictorial language, in which reality is transformed at the whim of the imagination. An expressive, luminous image of Venice, between architecture and reverie.
