This work revisits the Easter Island Moai in the spirit of Giorgio de Chirico, founder of metaphysical painting. Beneath a deep green sky, the monumental statues stand in a deserted landscape, bordered by silent arcades and crossed by long shadows. As in his famous Italian piazzas, the unusual perspectives, stark architecture and absence of people create an enigmatic atmosphere in which familiar places seem to lose their bearings. A striking encounter between the mystery of the Easter Island sculptures and the unsettling world of the artist.
